P-1B Visa (Members of an Internationally Recognized Entertainment Group):
- Eligibility:
- Members of an entertainment group that has been recognized internationally as outstanding in the discipline for a sustained and substantial period.
- Individual performers are not eligible for this visa; it is intended for groups.
- Duration:
- Initially granted for the time needed to complete the performance or tour, not to exceed 1 year, with the possibility of extensions.
P-2 Visa
P-2 Visa (Artists or Entertainers Under a Reciprocal Exchange Program):

- Eligibility:
- Artists or entertainers, individually or as part of a group, who are coming to the U.S. to develop, interpret, represent, coach, or teach a culturally unique program.
- The program may be a traditional ethnic, folk, cultural, musical, theatrical, or artistic performance or presentation.
- Duration:
- Granted for the time needed to complete the event, activity, or performance, not to exceed 1 year, with the possibility of extensions.
Application Process
- Petition by U.S. Employer or Agent:
- The U.S. employer, agent, or sponsoring organization must file Form I-129, Petition for a Nonimmigrant Worker, with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).
- The petition must include evidence of the applicant’s qualifications, details of the performance or event, and, in some cases, consultation with an appropriate labor organization.
- Approval and Visa Application:
- Once USCIS approves the petition, the applicant may apply for a P visa at a U.S. Embassy or Consulate.
- The applicant will need to complete the DS-160 form, pay the visa application fee, and attend a visa interview.
- Visa Issuance and Entry:
